OUR STORY
State National Pizza is about more than pizza—it’s about preserving a piece of Comanche history and giving an old landmark a new life. Our story here began long before we opened our doors. Owner Trey Allen’s family has called Comanche County home for more than 160 years, with the family farm dating back to 1904. After generations of holidays, reunions, and memories in Comanche—and experiencing firsthand the love and support of this community—Trey and his wife, Laura, knew they wanted to find a way to invest in a place that had meant so much to their family. The opportunity came with a historic building on the Comanche Square. Originally founded by E. E. Anthony in 1910 as the First State Bank of Comanche, the building became State National Bank in 1934 and served the community through the Great Depression and beyond. In 1968, the City of Comanche purchased the building and transformed it into City Hall, where it remained the center of local government until 2015. After nearly a decade of sitting vacant, we purchased the building in 2024 with a vision to preserve its history while creating a new gathering place for Comanche. With support from the Texas Historical Commission, the National Park Service, and the Comanche Economic Development Corporation, the 115-year-old landmark was carefully restored and transformed into State National Pizza. Today, the old bank is once again filled with people—this time gathering around pizza, drinks, sports, family, and friends. From Healthcare to Heartfelt Food
I'm Trey Allen, and this is my wife Laura. We live in New Braunfels with our kids, Maddy and Mason. I'm an Emergency Medicine Physician. Laura's a licensed X-Ray Tech. We'd built a good life. Then we saw an abandoned bank in downtown Comanche. No restaurant experience. But we believed in creating a gathering place for this community. We took the leap, and State National Pizza was born from passion, not expertise.
History Meets Fresh Food
This isn't just any building. It's a 115-year-old restored bank that once held Comanche's riches. Now it holds something different—great food, community, and memories. We chose this space because it connects us to something real and meaningful. The vault, the brick, the history—it all tells a story. We wanted to honor that past while creating something new. Every visit here is a step into Comanche's roots.
Why We Do It
Running this place with Laura reminds me why we did this. Our kids see us working hard for something we believe in. We're not just serving pizzas and wings—we're building a space where families gather. Where locals feel welcome. Where every guest is treated like a friend. That's what drives us each day. That's what makes this real and worth the three-hour drive from home.
